Season Details
The 2026 season kicked off on January 12th, featuring the new 992.2 Porsche Cup car.
Details:
- Setups: This season uses fixed setups with traction control (TC) and anti-lock brakes (ABS) disabled, keeping continuity with what so many drivers loved about the previous Porsche Cup cars.
- Schedule: The competition schedule is running from January to May, and will align in part with the official iRacing schedule for 2026S01 and 2026S02 during that time. This allows drivers to double-dip on their practice time!
- Drop Races: Core to the GPT design is recognizing sim racing is a hobby that must fit in with other life priorities. As such, there will be TWO drop races in this season.
- Starts: Races will use standing starts, matching officials. The GPT strongly believes standing starts are the fairest and safest way to start races.
- Qualifying: Races will feature 3 lap lone qualifying, offering drivers a fair opportunity to bring the tires using the new tire model up to ideal temperatures and set a representative fast lap.
- Major Championships: As always, the GPT schedule will feature two events on the calendar designated as Majors. These races are longer (60 minutes instead of 45) and will feature more difficult tracks/conditions but reward drivers with more points!
